Join The SeatWeavers' Guild for their 11th Annual Gathering July 27-29, 2018. Chair caners from across the nation will participate in the conference at Coronado Community Center. Saturday’s workshops and sessions are $80. The Gathering is also  open to the public for a fee of $110, which includes catered lunch, dinner, snacks, beverages and an annual membership in The SeatWeavers’ Guild, Inc.

Deadline for registration is July 1, 2018. You must be a current TSWG member.

Attendees will enjoy demonstrations by guild members showcasing the various methods and materials used in chair caning and seat weaving. Educational displays and special exhibits will be on site. Stay tuned for the final schedule, but some highlights include tapered hickory bark weaving, wicker restoration, and tips, tools, and tricks for the DIY enthusiast, the serious chair caner, and for the average joe who just wants to fix this one chair.

The SeatWeavers’ Guild is a nonprofit educational group organized to promote and perpetuate the age-old craft of chair seat weaving. Members are craftsmen, teachers, and restoration artists with a deep desire to pass on the seat weaving trade. Previous host locations of the annual gathering include the Folk Art Center in Asheville, NC, Robbins Crossing Historical Village in Ohio, Sturbridge Village of Massachusetts, Brown County State Park in Indiana, and Old World Village in Wisconsin.
