Seat Weaving: The Art and Industry

Exploring the Artsy side of seat weaving and the Industry side of seat weaving Workshop venue is the Glenn Community Center located in Glenn, Mi., mid way between Douglas and South Haven. Glenn has a fun history and is known as “the pancake town” when in 1937 a blizzard stranded over 200 motorists on US 31 and they filled the small town of Glenn seeking shelter. The citizens of Glenn took them in but food supplies were short except for a large supply of pancake flour. The fed the town and visitors pancakes for breakfast lunch and dinner giving Glenn it new nickname. We will hold our traditonal public demonstration and display on Sunday 7-28-2019 at the Douglas Old School House Museum in downtown Douglas Michigan. The museum will be open and a docent on duty while we demonstrate our craft and skills in the Garden at the museum on Sunday afternoon.

Workshop information will be posted as it is developed and finalized.

This area is know as the Art Coast of Michigan and is chock full of options for sightseeing. Plan to come and bring the family. There is much to do and see and you might want to extend your stay beyond the Annual Gathering scheduled days.
