Looking forward to our 2020 gathering and seeing everyone in Hull, it’s a beautiful time to be in and around Boston and you can make this a really fabulous vacation.

It is crucial to book reservations early for the 2020 gathering.  The summer is peak season in Hull and Nantasket Beach.   Here is some info to get you started on your journey.

This is the School where the gathering will be held so you can have a location to work from:

Hull has very few large hotels but does have lots of B&B’s and other small motels which you could research.  Trip Advisor is always a great resource.  Here are some suggestions for the surrounding areas:

In addition there are two parking lots very close to the school that can be available for RV Parking.  Please let George Goodwin know if you are interested, he will need to know by the beginning of July who would like to park there and what specific dates.  He will talk to the police department to make arrangements.

Boston Proper

If you would like to stay in Boston Proper, there is a ferry from Boston to Hull.

Look at the schedules for the Hingham/Hull Ferry at:

Coming by Sea

It is also possible you may be able to dock your boat, more information to follow in April.  Of course, Sue Muldoon had reminded me, this becomes very weather dependent.

Dorm Room Accommodations in Boston for 2020 Gathering

We have the opportunity to book dorm rooms at Mass Art in Boston for the gathering weekend. Here is the information. You will need to make your reservations on your own but if you mention The SeatWeavers’® Guild they will try to book you near everyone else.

You will need to be aware of parking. You may take public
transportation to the Ferry that will bring you to Hull. I will be happy to help if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing you in July.
Thank you for your email. I am happy to hear that you are interested in staying with us during the upcoming summer. I have attached residence hall information sheets for Artists' Residence and Smith Hall, the two buildings with the most availability during your requested stay. I also have included information for the Treehouse as well. We have
more limited availability in Treehouse --- one floor with 8 suites (variations of singles and doubles). I am also including building descriptions and next steps for booking below. In order to reserve a space, we would need to receive a
signed housing agreement and deposit payment. If individuals are booking on their own, we would be able to provide
housing based on availability at the time of the request.
In terms of travel to Hull, I did find information on the MBTA website. It looks like fares range between $4-10. The link for more information can be found here: https://www.mbta.com/schedules/Boat-F1/line
Parking near Long Wharf can be very expensive. If you stay with us, I would suggest taking the Green line into Downtown and transferring over to the Blue line to Long Wharf. There are green line stops (Longwood Medical Area or Museum of Fine Arts) approximately 1 block in either direction of our location. And the travel time approximately 30
minutes by train.
The Tree House is a suite style building on the MassArt campus in downtown Boston. Within each suite are at least two shared occupancy bedrooms and a bathroom for the occupants to share. Shared occupancy bedrooms can be rented as single occupancy
(one bed will remain empty in the bedroom); however, the other bedroom may have one or two guests in it as well. While the suites do not have a kitchen, there is a community
kitchen on the 3rd floor of the building for all building residents to use. The kitchen contains a full sized fridge, two microwaves, a stove/oven and dishwasher.
For amenities, each of the suites/bedrooms are air conditioned and the building is set for WiFi access. There are also Ethernet ports in each of the common sitting areas and bedrooms should the participants wish to bring their own Ethernet cables to connect. While televisions are not provided for the suites/bedrooms, there are a number of lounges in the building that do have televisions for all building residents to use. The third floor offers a small fitness room, a pool/ping pong table and a laundry room that is coinoperated with each load costing $1.75.
The Artists’ Residence is an apartment style building on the MassArt campus in downtown Boston. Within each apartment are at least two bedrooms (most of them are double occupancy), a bathroom a small kitchen area and sitting area. Shared occupancy bedrooms can be rented as single occupancy (one bed will remain empty in the bedroom); however, the other bedroom may have one or two guests in it as well. The kitchen contains a full sized fridge, stove/oven and dishwasher. The sitting area has
a small table and chairs/couches.
For amenities, each of the apartments/bedrooms are air conditioned and the building is
set for WiFi access. There are also Ethernet ports in each of the common sitting areas
and bedrooms should you wish to bring your own Ethernet cables to connect. While televisions are not provided, if you would like to bring your own, there is a cable jack in the common sitting area of each apartment and in each of the bedrooms. The first floor
also contains a laundry room that is coin-operated with each load costing $1.75.
While there is a kitchen in the, the following items are not provided, however
participants are welcome to bring their own:
· Plates
· Pots
· Pans
· Cups/mugs
· Utensils (cooking and eating)
· Microwaves
· Trash barrels for the unit (there is a trash room on the floor that tied bags can be left in)
· Coffee machine/Keurig
· Hangers
· Iron/Ironing Board
· Toiletries
· Cleaning supplies
The Smith Hall is a suite style building on the MassArt campus in downtown Boston. Within each suite are two shared occupancy bedrooms and a bathroom for the occupants to share. Shared occupancy bedrooms can be rented as single occupancy
(one bed will remain empty in the bedroom); however, the other bedroom may have one or two guests in it as well. While the suites do not have a kitchen, there is a community
kitchen on the 1st floor of the building for all building residents to use. The kitchen contains a mini fridge, microwave, and a stovetop.
For amenities, each of the suites/bedrooms are air conditioned and the building is set for WiFi access. There are also Ethernet ports in each of the common sitting areas and bedrooms should the participants wish to bring their own Ethernet cables to connect. While televisions are not provided for the suites/bedrooms, there is a lounge on each floor of the building that does have a television for all building residents to use. The first floor offers a ping pong table and a laundry room that is coin-operated with each load costing $1.75.
All buildings are Wi-Fi ready and each bedroom has Ethernet ports for anyone who wants to use a hardline for their connection. Each of the buildings have at least one lounge area with a television that all building residents can use. There are laundry
rooms in each building that are coin operated and each has a courtesy officer on duty at the front desk 24/7. Additional building information can be found here: https://massart.edu/summer-housing
· Bed linen and towels: $30.00 per set
If you are interested in a group contract and the discounted group rate, the next step would be to confirm availability and send a price estimate and housing agreement for
your stay. To do that, we would need the following information:
1. Check in and out dates
2. The building you are interested in
3. Number of beds and bedroom type (Single, double occupancy)
4. Whether or not linen should be included
I look forward to hearing from you and welcome any questions you may have. If it would be easier to schedule a time to discuss housing more in depth, please let me know your
availability. I am pretty flexible both tomorrow and Friday.
Best,
